Music video adds value ( Sinead o connor, Christiana aguilera)

This is an example of a music video that adds value to a song. Its called ' nothing compares to you' by Sinead o Connor. The music basically became big simply due to the performance that was given in the video as well as the emotion that was put in it


Another example of a video that adds value to the music was the christiana aguilera  - 'Dirrty', this music video massively increased sales and brought her image out and enhanced her career.

In addition to this, the purpose of music promo videos are to act as an advert for the song/band so in other words it helps to raise the profile of the band. Some audiences might find that listening to a song an audio for the first time might not seem to make so much sense but however by watching the promo video of the sing, the lyrics of the song might start to make sense and then they will be able to find a purpose to the song. It may even enable them to gain an interest in the artist and as a result, they will begin to buy their music which means more fame and money for the artist.

Finding Music

Today i have basically been on youtube going through music videos and just trying to find the ones that suit my personality and that i can actually sing to but i need to take into consideration the fact that i wouldn't want to do a music of someone that would be hard to contact in terms of asking for permission.

I also decided to search for unknown/ unsigned artist by jus typing it on google and see what comes out. Unsigned/unknown artists might be easier to get permission off from.

During my search on youtube i came across this A2 music video of lilly allen- knock em Out" and this video will definitely be put into consideration. quite enjoyed it and it wasn't boring.

Research......(looking at past students A2 music video)

Today we made a start to our A2 coursework. We went through the brief an d already feel like am going to find this project difficcult. So i decided to look at videos of past students in order to give me an idea of whats expected and what needs to get done.

The video above is an example of a fun video but things need to be taken into consideration such as the weather and atmosphere it needs to be shut in (summer time). It was a good video and got a high grade and i would definitely like to do something similar.


However, i will need to avoid videos like this...

Simply because its been shot in a school setting so its not really realistic and would probably not get a high grade.
