Creating the Front Cover of our Digipak- The Process of using photoshop

The first step was to download the different brushes that would be needed to make the front cover

The second step was to open up photoshop and make sure the theme is kept so the background colour was set to Black

using the brush tool, we browsed and selected
the cross brush preset that had been uploaded , the cross was then placed in the centre of the background.

The next thing was to add text to the album cover using the olde English font and hen wrote on the top and bottom .This included the Album title on top and the artists name on the bottom.

The following steps to add the band outlines to the cover. Again selecting the paint tool then the selected brush, i placed them in separate parts, creating a new layer for each one.

Filming process- Some images...

Lead singer with shirt purposely untucked

Drums blended in with the costume which demonstrates we thoroughly thought our props through

Costume and Props for the band.

We came to a decision that we wanted the band to have the smart boy look for the music video. To be precise, every band member did not only have to be dressed in a shirt and tie but they also had to wear the same colour of shirt and tie. We came to a decision that these colours should be black and white. The reason for this is because we took our audience into consideration and felt that this aspect of mis en scene would really make our video stand out and look interesting. To also come to this conclusion, we also thought about the fact that some rock band also dress smart but then also style it out in the sense that they will have their shirts half tucked, button undone, sleeves rolled up etc, and these features are there to basically emphasise the fact that the band members are really getting into their music.

The lead singer trial (Michael Matute)

Due to the lack of people available to be in the music video, we had to carry out a trial to see if someone else (Michael) could be in the music video. The trial was successful. Michael lip synced correctly and he had the right costume. We used a tripod to simulate the guitar prop, and michael looked the part. Which is why he is the chosen lead singer. There were some things which I needed to make sure that it is not present in the actual video. One of the main things is the lighting. As you can see I can only see half of Michael's face. To prevent this I would have him standing directly under the right light or make sure I gave the right shade of light. Another thing that I need to make sure about is the different posters on the wall. I need to position the camera properly, even though I couldn't see it in the camera window, it some how ended up in the final video. If I positioned the camera properly, I would be able to cut them out. I can also make sure its not on the wall.
