StoryBoard
Today we made the storyboard to our music video. The whole purpose of a storyboard is to basically outline the process of your music video and the events that are going to take place in the video. In general it makes it easier when filminbg the final piece as the group would know what they are filming each day and the the video is likely to run smoothly aqnd be a success when there is a plan behind it.

What Resources you will need( include Actors, Props, settings)
Mis-en-scene is a huge contribution as to what makes a good music video. The props will also depend on the genre of a music video followed by the outfit and make up on the artists that are starring in the music video. Our music video is an indie genre and so therefore analysing and listening to our music thoroughly as enabled me to gather together some thought and ideas in terms of the props that would be required in my music vidieo,. While listening to the music, i was able to identify some instrumentals that would make the music video convincing.. The instruments used are guitars and drums and in indie genre, looking through a couple of music videos under this genre,i was able to see that their basic structure and props are the instruments; which is why in my grouo, will be using guitars and drums as our prop. We would also need to include a microphone or two for the lead singer and another band member if not, all of them. In terms of the costume, band members will be in the typical rock look of skinny jeans and and slim fitted blazers.

SONG lYRICS
Verse 1;
Every time that you're in reach
i slip up, and you slip away from me
theres a lesson here to teach
seem like you've always got something to say
Chorus;
with all i've done, you lied to me
count me from reality
won't you just let go cause i cant breathe
im gonna soon make you a saint,
'cause in my eyes its just too late
won't you just let go cause i cant breathe
Verse 2;
seems like we've been living lies
morning dreams just come and pass me by
wipe the mud from out my eyes
were still living in a compromise
so just stop complaining
i dont need to say
everything still changing coz you knew that anyway
you can do much better, and i can't do much worse
this lie isn't bad, this is my first

Permission to use Music- Silent Sundays ' Are No More'
Chosen Artist Profile ' Silent Sundays'
About
The artist chosen is made up of Dave O'Leary - Vocals/Rhythm Guitar
Tom Harris - Lead Guitar/ Backing Vocals
Chris Tracey - Bass Guitar
Lee Dainty - Drums & Percussion
The band formed in mid 2006 after trying many different line-ups until we found a comfortable line-up and an always positive atmosphere.
We are a 4-Piece band, and have a wide variety in the styles of music that we play. We play a mixture of covers and originals which range between punk, rock and indie.With a Lead guitarist and Drummer into some of the more heavier genres, our music includes fast solos, fast rhythms, Strong and rhythmic drumming and some awesome fills. Also on the lighter side, the band has a bassist and rhythm guitarist into lighter, more indie style music, giving songs a nice melodic feeling with some chords new to the guitaring world, fast chord changes, funky bass riffs and clever chord structures. With Dave as our lead vocalist and Tray and Tom as back-up vocalists, our vocal range is almost endless, so we like to include clever and melodic vocal parts, with some strong vocal parts for all 3 of the vocalists. Asking for permission/ The main reason for choosing the song
Due to copyright law,in terms of getting music for our music video, as a group we had to seek permission from the artist of our choice and ask them if it was alright to use their music for our music video. We had a choice of either calling them or sending them an email.
We decided to send them an email instead and this is what it basically said;
"We are A-Level students at Robert Clack School in East London, and we would like to request permission to use you music. The track we wish to use is Silent serenade. We would very much appreciate if you would give us the permission to do so as it is for our media project to create a music video from an artist and genre of your choice."

Thank you.

Unsigned.com/ Newgrounds.com
Previously in one of my posts , i spoke about the importance of copyright products and how by law, its a must to seek permission to use copyright music from the artists. In return, this helped me todecide where i should get my music from. I decided to go with Indie genre of music because I feel it is one of the genres where you can create imagery to go along with the music. Two sites which I would be looking at would be:
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/
Both these websites have variety which is good for browsing for the right and effective music to use. The sites both have split genres which makes it easy for me to navigate through the site.

Target Audience Focus Group Video/ Vox pops
Like all good media our vox pops was staged in a classroom. The questions that were asked included;
- Do you watch music Videos?
- What is your favourite music video?
- What do you like about music videos?
- what makes a great music video?
- whee do you watch music videos?
After the filming was all done. As usual, we had to edit the clips in terms of getting it all in order and making sure that its structured really well and it looks slightly professional like the sample vox pops that was watched in lesson.
Below are some screenshots taken while we was editing the clips;

What is a Digipak?
Digipaks typically consist of a book-style paperboard or card stock outer binding, with one or more plastic trays capable of holding a CD or DVD attached to the inside.
Vox pops
"VOX POPS"
- populi (Latin)- voice of the people
- Usually the interviewees are shown in public places and are supposed to be giving spontaneous opinions in a chance encounter
- Vox pops are often used on news programmes to show ' Balance'.
- 'Opinions was divided on the streets'....
"VOX POPS"
- Each person is asked the same question, the aim is to get a variety of answers and opinions on any given subject
- Journalists are usually instructed to approach a wide range of people to get varied answers from different points of view
Examples>>>>
Like all good Media.....
- Our "Vox pops" will be "staged"
- Everyone needs to prepare to answer the following questions;
- Do you watch a music video?
- What is your favourite music video?
- What makes a great music video?
- Where do you watch Music videos?
After learning about what Vox pops is about in lesson, we then had to carry out a task which was to;
- Record your interviewer asking the questions straight into the camera and giving them a seductive look
- Record your interviewer asking the question at least one person while staring deep into their eyes
- Record at least 5 different people answering random questions.
- Edit the video
- In the editing process we had to make the vox pops brief and to the point
- Add a title at the beginning of the sequence
- Add captions identifying each participant- only use first names and possible age and occupation

Audience Research- Survey Monkey
We had to carry out an audience research by designing our own questionnaire on survey monkey. The survey basically included questions which explored the interest of different audiences in terms of the types of music videos they watch, if they do watch music videos at all, their favourite music video, etc. The whole point of this research was to enable myself and my group to understand and know peoples interest in terms of the genre of music most people prefer to listen to in order to come up with ideas for our music video, which would interest our audience. We didn't just give out questionnaires but however, we also carried out other interviews by actually taking a video of the whole process which are known as vox pops.
