Asking for permission/ The main reason for choosing the song

Due to copyright law,in terms of getting music for our music video, as a group we had to seek permission from the artist of our choice and ask them if it was alright to use their music for our music video. We had a choice of either calling them or sending them an email.

We decided to send them an email instead and this is what it basically said;

"We are A-Level students at Robert Clack School in East London, and we would like to request permission to use you music. The track we wish to use is Silent serenade. We would very much appreciate if you would give us the permission to do so as it is for our media project to create a music video from an artist and genre of your choice."

Thank you.

While looking through Unsigned.com, we came across this band called Silent Sundays and they seemed really interesting and suited our target audience. The song we choose was silent serenade and the reason for this
is is because the music was quite up beat and could really get an audience going. You can move and dance around to it which is good for our target audience because they are young adults who are civilised and enjoy listening to fresh, fun, and exciting music instead of the old dull boring ones. In addition to this, though we have some people that enjoy specific music genres such as hip hop, Rock, Rnb,Pop etc. But this specific song titled ' Silent serenade ' is so ongoing and enjoyable to listen to which is exactly why we chose it.

This is the email that was sent to the band "Silent Sundays" asking for permission to use their music
