How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
Along with our music video we were to to make ancillary texts being a Digipak and Magazine Advert. This is so that it could simulate a famous music video, which comes with its digipak and magazine advert for its album. As this accilary text are to accompany the music videos, they must have some sort of significance to the music video.
The similarities between our Music video and Ancillary texts ;

DIGIPAK
To make the Digipak we used the software photoshop Cs3. It is highly important that the Digipak reflects the music video. Which is why the front of the digipak was designed to be black and white because that reflects the costume of the band members. The 1st and 2nd cover of the inside of the album however contrasts the black and white front cover simply because taking the word ' Sunday' from the band name and the word ' Saint' from the main album title brought up the idea of making the inner cover look like the inside of a church and so therefore by opening up th e digipak, it will feel like making and entrance into a church . This can be compared to like walking into a peaceful and joyful place which is why we decided to make the inside cover look bright and catchy. |

Making the Digipak this way looked very effective people opening the album will not only feel like opening an ordinary album but it will feel like opening a door and expecting something great and mighty.

Magazine Advert
|
This Magazine advert which was made by one of my group member was very effective and this is what he said about it " Found it useful and effective for my magazine advert to look the way it looks. I took the inside of the album and made it my digipak. I originally wanted to use this as my album cover however I had to change this quickly as i could not add a title on top of it as there are is too much going on to add text. Knowing that I decided it would be better if placed it as my magazine advert i could add a black box and add text to it".
