Music Promo Video do the following things:
- Advertisement
- Draws attention to the music video/song. An example of this is the Lady Gaga-Telephone video... a lot of things is going on in the video which drags the video and makes it a very long one.>>>>>>>>>>>>
- Illustrates the song- So people have a wider image of what the video is about
- Tells a story- For example; Bronski (smalltown boy) and George Michael (Outside).

This George Michael was more about Public affection in the sense that people in the video werent bothered about what the society and people around tehm thought. So people were getting intimate outside but ideally people would usually be like that around one another indoors. The whole purpose of george michael doing this is the fact that hes coming out about himself and actually telling people who he is and hpw he's homosexual basically, which is why this video is very Significant
- Expresses an individuals emotion.For example; Sinead o connor- Nothing compares to you. This video emphasises the pain Sinead is goiing through and all the emotions shes goiing through due to the death of her mother. The camera is so close to her fae that you could clearly see the tears dropping down her cheeks. This makes the video even more powerful even though it wasnt intentional.

An example of Marketting an image change would be Christina aguilera with her video- Dirrty as as well as Madonna video- Vogue.Christina Aguileras sudden image change caused a lot of controversy as people didnt expect someone like her to come out with such wild video. However for her, she went that far just to show people her real self and how she really is.Normal girl who loves to party and have a crazy time.

In terms of madonna, shes similar too. In all her music videos shes always changed her image. If it wasnt for the number of image changes in her videos, she wouldnt have been as successful as sheis because she wasnt particularly a good singer. An example video would be >>>

How might we measure the success criteria of a music promo video?
- Word of mouth
- Number of hits on youtube e.g, psy-Gangnam style, Numa Numa
This video had a massive amount of hits on youtube. This was because despite the fact that it was sung in a foreign language which many do not understand, it was the music video and the choreography in it that stood out to people which made it very successful.(psy-Gangnam style)
This was the first video posted on the internet and this specific video spread around the world simply because its ironic and very enjoyable.(Numa Numa).

- Amount of publicity- Sometimes a music can have a massive amount of views on youtube simply because its just not very good. This can be known as Negative publicity. An example of this is the music video Rebecca Black- Friday night.

- It is worth nothing how there has been a massive switch in the importance of youtube from television channels such as; Mtv
- Most viewing of music videos now appears to be online
